OCR is a term that I come across often as I try to find out how to convert paper documents to digital format, but it is something that I do not fully understand. Can someone please give an easy-to-understand explanation of the ocr meaning along with an example? For example, if I scan a document, like an invoice, and need to copy its content to an Excel sheet, then how can this be helpful? Can it also read handwritten notes or is it only useful with printed documents?
