Bought a car without inspection and it worked out fine, am I just lucky?

I know everyone on here says never skip a pre-purchase inspection, and I totally get why. But I want to share my story because maybe it helps balance the conversation. Last year I bought a 2012 Nissan Patrol from a seller in Satwa. The car had 180k km, looked clean, and the seller was an older guy who seemed honest. I didn't get any inspection, just took it for a test drive and checked the fluids myself. I've put 30k km on it since then and the only thing I've had to replace is a battery and one O2 sensor. I know I got lucky and I'm not saying anyone else should skip the inspection. But I'm curious, how common is it to buy a used car without a Comprehensive Vehicle Assessment Satwa and actually end up with a good car? Or is my experience the exception? I'm about to buy another car (a 2018 BMW X3) and I'm actually planning to get an inspection this time because I feel like my luck might run out. But I'm still wondering if the inspection is always worth it for cheaper cars. Anyone else have good luck without an inspection? Or horror stories that prove I'm an idiot? Thanks.
